Sometimes you meet people in your life and you just know you are going to be friends for a very long time. Almost 10 years ago I met Kenneth, we were both into the casemodding scene and liked to play shooting games. We got older and we started to like cars. After owning a Honda Civic and a Del Sol, he bought a S2000 and modified it quite a bit.
The Nürburgring truly is a special place. Nowhere else in the world can you turn up at 17:30h after work and go for a quick blast along a 20km. winding racetrack. It doesn’t matter if you are driving a ’90s Micra or the latest Lamborghini. As long as it has wheels and it drives, it is welcome at the ring.
During a lazy weeknight, I was browsing on Facebook wasting some time when I saw a message from a buddy of mine who was looking for a co-driver to join him on a trip to Mimms. It caught my attention, I’ve never been to England before and I was curious to see this event and also to see how the UK scene compares to the Netherlands. I had over 25 days of holiday left from work to spare, so I said to myself “Why the hell not?!”. We cruised down to Duinkerke to get the boat to Dover, it was a crazy moment when coming to the French border with the current police and military presence. They stood there with automatic guns after all the drama which has unfortunately unfolded during the past few weeks. Continue reading
This S2000 might be the most interesting car that I saw at Gatebil for various reasons. Others might beg to differ, but this is a personal thing. I used to be a convertible driver and I’ve always had a weak spot for the Honda S2000 over the years. Whenever I see a cool S2K project I repeatedly fall in love over and over again and wish that one day I will drive one myself. However I’m always entertained when I see another owner enjoying his or her project and therefore I’d like to tell you a little story about Dennis Häggblom, the proud owner and builder of this particular Honda. Summer vibes, long days and warm nights. What’s better than going for a ride with your mates?
Chech out our little aftermovie of an impromptu mini-meet.
We were a little sad to cancel our evening meet at the end of last month. We still wanted to have a nice evening to hang out because a lot of our regular meet visitors were planning to come over again. We decided to set up a little evening with some locals and clubfriends and had an amazing night. Continue reading
We as human beings all have our own preference – some like it hot, others like it cold. Some like bacon, others are vegetarian. Some like it stanced, others like it functional. Me? I like my bacon hot, but when it comes to cars I really like most of the sub-cultures within the automotive community, something that reflects on the DMPD events as well as you can see here and here, so allow me to show you some of DMPD finest finest! If there is one question I get asked a lot it’s this one: “How do you find all these cars to shoot?” Well, the answer is simple: Social media! We connect with people all over the globe in a way that we couldn’t have imagined twenty years ago. For guys like me it’s kind of a necessity. We need it to promote our work or to find some coverage worthy material for our blog. And I think this gorgeous S2K is more than worthy to be featured on our humble blog! Continue reading
