Wat ik gevonden heb, is dat onderstaande het ALS systeem is wat gebruikt werd bij de subaru wrc. Een evo schijn een vergelijkbaar systeem te hebben?

So I've noticed a few posts come up as of late talking about the ALS system used in the Subaru WRC. There was a picture posted from a prodrive tour with a turbo, headers and exhaust. On the up-pipe/headers side of the turbo, there was an extra flex pipe with a black box attached to it. After reading through many of the discussions here and having discussions around the shop I work at (HMS Motorsport). We came to the conclusion that that pipe actually pulled air in from the hot side of the intercooler and then pulsated it through the black box and then finally through the turbo, thus keeping the turbo spinning. This would prove to be a more effective way at canceling out the lag and not going with the "bang-bang" ALS that a lot of cars use. So, not fully happy with the conclusion we came up with, I decided to shoot an email over to subaruwrcspares.com The email I received back is here...Rodney explains how the whole system works and also touches on how the big "charge pipe" works which comes from the intercooler to the throttle body. I hope this clears some things up..

The item you refer to is known as a "rocket". This device is fitted to the header just in front of the turbo and works as a sophisticated anti-lag system.
Air and fuel are fed into a combustion chamber and ignited by a spark on over-run, it can be used in three stages (depending on how long you want the engine to last) and is the cause of the load banging noise that can be heard as these cars pass by and the flames coming out of the tail pipe. This system is used in conjunction with the boost pack which stores excess pressure in it's own reservoir to be fed back into the engine inlet side of the inter cooler when the throttle is depressed after shut off.
All this is coupled to the "flat change" gear shift and launch control system which is of course controlled the the ECU.

Engine Wiring Harness £3,000
The "rocket" system was removed from customer cars by Prodrive, and only cars still under contract (S11 onwards) left the factor with this spec.

Jah, ik stuurde die op MSN. Er zijn een paar jongens op het driftworks forum bezig om hun eigen systeempje te ontwerpen.
Dit is wel meesterlijk, zo kun je toch een bigass turbo gebruiken op relatief weinig cilinderinhoud .

dat is nog eens turbo tech, zeer intressant! Zo zie je maar weer dat de autosport door verandering in regelgeving(1.6 liter in de wrc) weer nieuwe dingen uitvindt, wat uiteindelijk op de markt komt

Het eerste deel wel, alhoewel nooit helemaal duidelijk was bij mij hoe het precies zat en altijd interesant is hoe zulke teams zulke dingen verzinnen.

dat vind ik altijd wel grappig om te lezen.

maar dit zijn wel goed doordachte systemen, het lijkt ook een heel stuk beter te werken dan het anti lag systeem wat bijvoorbeeld op veel honda turbo's word gebruikt..
dat is gewoon extra brandstof inspuiten + de ontsteking vet retarden, daardoor ontbrand de boel zodra de uitlaatkleppen al open staan en dat spoelt de turbo op..
