This is one of those cars… you like it or you find it hideous. If you follow the Dutch Time Attack championship, this car should be familiar. Insane aerodynamics, flashy colours and always at the top of the leaderboard. But why did he modify it like this, you ask? The owner, Richard Marshall, had a very good reason!
Hello and welcome to my first (and hopefully not last) blog on Wangan Warriors. Some may know me as Stijn van Beek, seen my photos on Lifestyle-INC or know me as a red-headed boy driving a Honda CRX. I’m not going to bother you guys with boring stuff about myself so let’s talk about something you don’t see everyday.
All the way from Finland, the Valtonen Motorsport FD3S RX-7. Continue reading
Imagine this for a second… You live in a country which is rich of culture, history, art, stunning nature, plenty of automotive activity and much more, yet you can’t seem to find your way here. You’re seeking for a different form of excitement and joy to fill those boring Sundays and weekends – the kind of pleasure you can’t seem to find close to home. I’m sure many of you can relate to this and begun looking for places beyond your natural environment. Continue reading
Okay. I’ll just go ahead and admit it. I’m spoiled rotten! I’ve been to so many great events, both big and small, in Europe that most events in my home country of the Netherlands just don’t seem to do it for me anymore! Unfortunately I don’t have the financial means to visit an event or race in another country every weekend and well, sometimes you just have an itch that needs scratching. So, on Saturday evening I decided that I would scratch said itch and visit JapFest at Circuit Park Zandvoort on Sunday! Continue reading
It’s been a while, so it’s about time we provide you with another lovely wallpaper!
This time it features the awesome Mitsubishi Evo 9 GT of Richard Marshall, during the first round of 2014 of the Toyo Tires Time Attack on Circuitpark Zandvoort.
The photo was even taken during his actual hotlap, at the end that lap he secured the second place in the Extreme class, the fastest class of the Time Attack series. Continue reading
Aside from a few track days I can’t really remember when I last attended Time Attack at Zandvoort but I can tell you one thing, it felt good to be out there again. I was amazed by how many teams from abroad made their way to the Dutch track in the dunes. When Wangan Warriors was invited to become mediapartner for the European Time Attack Masters I was pretty excited and started brainstorming with the crew about how we would approach the event and how we would cover it. Continue reading
(Rens)You’ve might heard the news that our good friend Allard joined our blog team. I’m gratefull to have another talented guy in our crew and I hope you readers will enjoy his work. Have at it Allard! Continue reading
The Toyota Yaris, a sensible and cheap car. A car mostly driven by elderly people. A women’s car, with lots of storage space in the dash and mirrors in both sun visors. I myself own one for more than four years now. I fell in love with it the moment I walked in the dealership’s showroom and I bought it as my first car. Continue reading
We are well on our way in the weekend so time for our weekly wallpaper. This shot was captured by Alex Kamsteeg last season. Continue reading
I can always explain why I like a particular car by naming just one thing. It can be an amazing paintjob, a nice stance or some cool parts. This car attracted my attention for the first time on Automaxx Streetpower. I saw it before, driving around tracks at insane speeds, but this time it was standing on the paddock without the bonnet so I could see that gorgeous ceramic-coated exhaust manifold. Continue reading
