Events: Time to Attack at Streetpower

Improvement never seem to end in the automotive scene. The Automaxx Streetpower event was the evidence of that perception. Circuit ability seems to be growing to whole other levels and this is only the start of the time attack season. Seeing a Suzuki Baleno rage on the tarmac as if life just doesn’t mean anything to the driver anymore, is a sight we love to whitness at Time Attack races. There are some new competitors showing force and no fear and old veterans returned to settle bussiness. Let’s have a look at some of the Japanese scene representatives at the TT circuit last weekend.

The quality level on the paddock was undeniable. We’ve spotted more stance an quality compared with last years Streetpower event.

This Full Car Tuning Fairlady doesn’t need an introduction anymore does it?

An event isn’t complete without StickerDump present. I heard they have a whole collection Illest and Fatlace clothing coming their way so make sure you’re the first one over there!

He made it! But with no engine. Misha is building up his Impreza as we speak. Jeroentje.nl tuning is putting a lot of effort in this project. They intended to start with this car in the Time Attack but unfortunately it wasn’t ready. Misha hopes to compete in the JAF TA at the Zandvoort circuit at the end of April.

Rising Sun Performance was present with a great team of cars. This is Ians S2000. The last time I saw this yellow beauty it had a complete stripped engine bay ready for a paintjob. Show & Shine could learn a thing or two from this car because it’s cleaner than ever. More of that in a future feature on our blog.

Red devils side by side. These two NSX’s came along with RSP and it was lovely to see them in action on the track. Tom Veruyn raced his heart out in his DC5 as well and got transfered from Pro class to Super pro. We’re looking forward to see him at Zandvoort.

The Honda S2K Endurancecupcar from Verhagen wasn’t able to compete in the finals of the Extreme class. Let’s say technique abandoned them after the warm up.

RPM Vision colleague Dennis Kussendrager is back in action. After some bad luck with his Honda he started in the semi pro class this season. His race ended after some clutch problems. Make sure you check rpmvision.nl for all the time attack news updates.

It has been a long time that I’ve seen Alber Klok jr. on the Dutch tracks. The time attack veteran is back to compete in the super pro class and ended 5th at Streetpower.

Albert wasn’t the only one in action with a 200sx. Bjorn Berkers came along with the Jeroentje.nl team with his S14. A known car in the scene because you’ll probably recognize this was Lennard Wanders former car.

And if these pictures brought you in a Silvia mood, well here is a nice looking s-body we found on the club paddock. A rare sight at this Automaxx event and we love it.

We know that England is well represented on the dutch tracks. We’ve featured the daily car of Simon Bradford a while ago in this article. Over here you see him in action in his track prepared R33 GTST. He ended 7th not bad for a first time at the Assen circuit.

Simon came together with Bruce Morris. They are both competing in all the Time Attack sessions this season so this isn’t the last time you’ll see them in action.

Showoff Imports is finally done with building up their DC5. There is more action to be expected from this typeR in this season.

Neil Robbertson representing SVA Imports with this EVO VI. Looks quite agressive just sitting there. Don’t you agree?

We will certainly follow all the Japanese action this season and show you people what we find out there. Make sure you check this link for the full kwalification list of this past session.

We will not be following this season on our own. Behind every camera hides a light capturist and in this case we are talking about Alex Kamsteeg. We are proud to announce that he is our newest blog crew member and will be covering Japanese car culture and lifestyle for our blog. We welcomed Bas Kuiper as blog photographer as well and they will both properly introduce themselves in the upcoming blogs.
See you in the pitlanes next time!
