WNGN Guests: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

WNGN Guests will be a series of guest articles from talented photographers who deserve some attention on Wangan Warriors. Next up we have Swedish photographer Arslan Golić who tells us about his vision on photography!
Photography is an interesting visual media. Depending on whom you ask about photography, it’s a different answer all the time. Everyone is unique and therefore everybody has a unique view and definition of it, no matter whether you are a photographer or not. You consume visual information in different forms everyday and it’s a special medium in the way that you are the person who creates the story for yourself. I guess you have heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Continue reading

The Year Through My Lens

As I’m sat staring at a blank page wondering exactly where to start with explaining what this whole year has meant to me, it’s made my mind think way back to right where everything started. Why? Because this year has undoubtedly been a giant leap towards what I had hoped to achieve when I was sat in this same position exactly a year ago. I wasn’t writing an article for Wangan Warriors at that time, which is why I believe 2014 is where it truly started, and it’s been an absolute pleasure to come on-board with the team. It’s been a hectic one, no doubt – and for that reason I’d like to take the opportunity to not just talk about the craziness that has made this year, but also to go back and introduce myself properly as part of WW.

Twenty Fourteen: My moments

Twenty fourteen is over. It became somewhat of a tradition for us to revise the year and look back at some of our adventures and that’s exactly what I’m about to do. It’s actually been a busy twelve months for me and thinking back there is a lot to talk about. I traveled to some amazing places in Europe and met a lot of new people. It’s weird to think how fast time has passed because some events, trips or photoshoots just feel like yesterday. Luckily there are lots of good memories to talk about so let’s get started! European GT-R Days presentation

We like new things right? We love to get suprised and we like to be spoiled with gifts but we can also look forward to something like a concert of your favourite band or a new movie that’s coming out. I’m happy to introduce something new as well and it’s something for Nissan GT-R owners to look forward to with quite some excitement. The European GT-R Days is a newly set up track event which will be held in 2015. It’s an initiative by Custom Import Arts, HKS, Ecutec and event organization agency Eybis. Continue reading

Wangan E.O.Y 2K14 – Little moments that matter

Why do we build cars? Why do we get together for a meeting? Why do we, Wangan Warriors, organize meetings? Why do we do, what we do? For some it’s to show of their rides. For others it’s about hanging out with friends. And we organize meetings to cater the needs of both. Personally I like the latter. For one, my car isn’t exactly finished (and you can call that the understatement of the year!) but more important is the fact that I love the social side of (our) meetings and gatherings. So allow me to show you some of my favorite moments of our 2014 End of year meeting!

Our EoY meet, the fifth edition

No one in his right mind would organise a car meet in november. By then, many cars are already in storage. Safely tucked away or completely disassembled for some modifications, both big and small. And don’t forget the weather. Will it be wet, cold, snowy, foggy or a combination of all these? But then again, we are car freaks. So why wouldn’t we organise a car meet in november? Continue reading

DMPD Finest Finest

We as human beings all have our own preference – some like it hot, others like it cold. Some like bacon, others are vegetarian. Some like it stanced, others like it functional. Me? I like my bacon hot, but when it comes to cars I really like most of the sub-cultures within the automotive community, something that reflects on the DMPD events as well as you can see here and here, so allow me to show you some of DMPD finest finest! Continue reading

DMPD Finest: A perfect weekend

DMPD. An organization that by now is well known within the European car community for presenting some of the finest car shows one can attend. DMPD is a synonym for perfection and exclusivity, and yet also for a laid back atmosphere, hanging with your mates and enjoying that what we all love so dear; Cars.
There was a shockwave of disappointment when the announcement was made that there would be no DMDP main event this year. Fortunately for us there was still one DMPD event on the calendar; DMPD Finest! Continue reading

DMPD Finest: From ghost town to paradise

Imagine this for a second: You’re living in a village which is almost completely abandonded and left to dilapidate by your governement for many years. You’ve been living there most of your life, if not your entire life and you’re being forced in all kinds of ways to leave your home because of an industrial plan which will affect your village in a way you don’t want – demolition. This is exactly the case with a small place called Doel. Doel is an East Flemish village situated on the leftbank of the Schelde river just outside the harbour of Antwerp in Belgium. King of Europe – The Final Battle

Despite being less than a month ago, it already feels like some time since I was last behind the lens, I can only put this down to the fact that this has been a crazy year for me. I decided early on that there were several events I would need to attend before it was over, and I tried my best to make this happen. Some things didn’t happen due to other commitments, however others did, and these have provided some amazing opportunities. Let me hit the rewind button… Continue reading
