Car life: Looking back and living forward

The end of every year is fun and boring at the same time and both for diffirent kind of reasons. We wrapped up the season with an End oy Year meeting with more visitors than we could have ever dreamed of. That was definitely a new milestone and an eye opener for us. We have a lot of pictures to tell stories from this past year. Some cars are in the process of becoming more amazing than they were before and others have just finished theirs. Continue reading

Car life: The sorry state of Dutch drifting?

Drifting, the art of sliding a car around a track. Smoke, screaming tyres, a very focussed driver turning the wheel at insane speed and the ocassional crash. And you know what? I’m a fan! The last few years I visited the Scandinavian Drift Series and the British Drift Championship multiple times, I’m a long time visitor of sites like Driftworks or Drifted and naturally I watch the Formula Drift and I spend countless hours on Youtube watching Japanese drift movies. Continue reading

Meeting: WW13 – The social side

I have to confess something. Actually, a few things. I visit the track dozens of times a year, and I’ve never ever done a lap of Zandvoort in my life. I shoot many drifting events and demos, and I’ve never ever hitched a ride in a drift car. I visit very few meetings each year, and I visit most of them just for the pictures. But the Wangan Warriors meetings are different. They’re mainly a social thing for me, with taking pictures just being a secondary objective. Continue reading

Meeting: End of the Year, beginning of new things

I think we all agree that this day was a succes for all of us. Not only for us as organisation but for every visitor who showed up and had fun with their friends. The day started with quite some rain all over the country but only minutes before official start of the meeting that sunshine came through. Luckily for all of us I guess, I even saw some people walking around in a t-shirt or without a winter jacket. Remember the cold of last years meeting? Continue reading

Car Life: Heavenly hell on earth

I don’t know what started it, I can’t remember when exactly and I don’t know why this adoration keeps growing. I don’t even know if I have the right pictures to express it and I don’t know if I can find the right words to explain it to you. You’re probably thinking: What the hell is he talking about? Well I’m aiming at my intimacy with the well know Green Hell. This place works in mystirious ways and raises so many emotions and memories within me that I don’t even know where to start precicely. I guess I will kick it off with some historical facts and information about the legendary Nürburgring. Continue reading

Lifestyle: Captured moments

I just wanted to share a couple of photos and talk a little bit about some special moments of this past year. Moments which weren’t mentioned in blogs or didn’t get the attention needed. Going through my pictures it made me realise that I go to so many amazing places and got to meet great people allong the way and some of them became my closest friends during this past year. Some people reached their goals and some set new ones. It’s no secret that the scene is changing and that it’s becoming more and more serious. Continue reading

Feature: Portrait of a Warrior

Where to begin with this story? Well at the very beginning I suppose. Noud and Kay have been best friends since highschool and practically grew up together. They’ve never lost contact and about six years ago they got attracted to Japanese car culture and both bought a Nissan 200sx. After some time Kay decided to sell the Silvia and bought an EK3 Vtec-e Civic. At that moment they had the idea to start a little club together called Wangan Warriors. Back then it was nothing more than a sticker on both their windshields but that is where it all started. There are the roots of Wangan Warriors. Noud never sold his s-body but together with his Warriors he rebuilt it to the wide piece of art it is today. Continue reading
