Silver and sexy: Joop’s 350Z

The year 2002. Even though it feels like yesterday for most of us a lot has changed in the world since then. 2002 saw the introduction of the Euro as a currency, NASA landed on Mars for the first time and iconic cars like the Skyline R34 and the mkIV Supra saw their last year of production. Fuelled by the box-office hit The Fast and The Furious, what we now refer to as ‘rice’ was the mainstream way to modifying your car and everything else was considered un-cool. Where am I going with all this you might ask? Well quite simply; 2002 was also the year that the star of today’s feature, the Nissan 350Z, hit the showrooms for the first time. Continue reading

Mellow Yellow and the art of a clean S2K

If there is one question I get asked a lot it’s this one: “How do you find all these cars to shoot?” Well, the answer is simple: Social media! We connect with people all over the globe in a way that we couldn’t have imagined twenty years ago. For guys like me it’s kind of a necessity. We need it to promote our work or to find some coverage worthy material for our blog. And I think this gorgeous S2K is more than worthy to be featured on our humble blog! Continue reading

Supra with a Ridox jacket

There are people who love the attention, live for the fame and hope their car is captured in every shot taken at an event. On the other hand we have those that will not appear at shows at all nor do they spam their projects except on one, or maybe two carforums. Both of those people have every right to do whatever they want. The first person might provide us with awesome photos and video material shot by some of the best photographers of our scene and the latter just surprises us when we least expect it. Purity of the 260Z

Say what you want, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a classic like the 260Z Datsun being threated well and given a personal style. There is some true dedication, motivation and liveliness needed to rebuild a car from scratch and revise or renew every single part possible. I never had such sense of discipline for a car and that might sound weird from a (mainly) automotive photographer, but I’d rather capture other builders craftmanship. Continue reading

Swift simplicity

A few years back I visited a big car event with a few guys from the now defunct Grunnmeet car club. Just a few months prior to that, two brothers introduced themselves on the forum of that club and they said they would come too. And on the day of the event they showed up in an old Suzuki Swift, with a very tiny one litre engine.

Holy Datsun

Every once in a while we come across amazing projects, projects which we usually don’t find very easily but I have the feeling that this has changed. Lately it seems we’re on top of things and we’re bringing you some of the most exclusive stuff we’ve ever shot; don’t you agree? Well it’s indeed quite easy for me to say, because I know what our bloggers are up to in the coming weeks and months. With Allard covering the immaculate S14 in the Raising The Bar series and the masterly Soarer of Albin Droogsma, I’m happy to follow that up with something we don’t see every day either. And no, this is not the last of it because our very own Alex will share some grandiose work as well. Just sit tight! Continue reading

Clean S15 more.

Unadulterated S15

A few months ago, some of the Wangan Warriors decided to drag me along on their trip to the Nürmeet 2013. During one of the days there, we spotted a nice S15. Quickly I went over to the owner and asked him if he’d be up for a photoshoot… Needless to say, he was. A lovely tour through the Eifel was planned for that day, so were were a bit short on time. Luckily I was able to spend enough time with this very clean and proper JDM Silvia to capture some photos of it. Continue reading

Spotting sushi in the Big Apple

New York. The Big Apple. The American dream in the flesh. A trip to this city has been in the top 10 of my bucket list for a long, long time. But it has been in the top 3 of my sisters bucket list even longer! So when I turned thirty last July, she decided it was time to take the plunge and buy us some tickets for my birthday.  It was supposed to be a car free holiday but hey… You know me!  Continue reading

Art of the GT86

It’s easy to agree that us gearheads consider cars or car-projects as art. I myself am absolutely in love with the Toyota GT86 and fortunately I got to drive one myself the other day at Co-ordSport. In the same week I got to photograph one as well at our End of Year meet in Oosterhout and this was a photoshoot which has been on my to do list for some time now. I got in touch with the owner Gunther Lamberts and and agreed that I would spend some quality time with his Toyota at the meet. Continue reading

A rather clean Civic

Something was wrong with me for a very long time. Some of my friends would now say that I’m still weird but that’s a different story. For quite some time I wasn’t enormously fond of Honda Civics and to be very honest I don’t think I have a clear explanation why. When I was looking around for my first car it had to be affordable, fun to drive and have some potential to modify. And I apologize already but Honda Civic was the first to be scratched off my list. Continue reading
