The biggest benefit of being a photographer is that we visit places or see certain events happen that we would not experience otherwise. I mean, most of the time we’re at the frontline of important issues or happenings because we’re the ones to register it all on our memory cards. However, I’m happy that I don’t concider myself as a photographer who just registers. I always try to take in all there is to absorb and experience because you’ll never know if you will live through it ever again. Continue reading
People often ask my why I drive all the way to the UK for a car event. Aren’t there any events closer by? Is it worth the long trip? To be short: yes, it is worth the trip! The scene in the UK is much bigger compared to our scene in the Netherlands and there is a lot to see. Me and my friend Kenneth jumped in the Honda Aerodeck and went to Mimms Honda day, a trackday for Honda’s only.
Living one and a half hours away from the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the 24 hours endurance race of Spa has naturally been high on the ‘to-do’ list of must-go events.
This year the time had come to finally tick that one off the list so me and Rens Adams geared up with enough spare batteries and Red Bull to last us through the long and sleepless weekend and went on our way. Continue reading
Rens Adams and myself spent a whole weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps track covering the full Total 24h race of Spa 2016. It was our first time ever shooting at this track so there was plenty to explore and we pretty much covered the whole 7 kilometer track by foot before the end of the weekend. A full event report is in the works, but in the meanwhile here is a little preview from the drivers parade through the city center of Spa. Real GT3 cars rolling down public roads is always a special sight to be seen.
A couple of weeks ago I got a call from Noud to invite me for a small Wangan Warriors meeting with a special surprise. Without any doubt I packed my gear and went for a cruise to the beautiful landscapes of Limburg in the south of the Netherlands. On the way down there was rain falling down but luckily that cleared very fast.
In addition to our latest article on the JDM Sunset meet, here is our video coverage of the event as well. It turned out to be a huge succes with large numbers of car enthusiast coming down to the west shore of The Netherlands to attend the meeting. Enjoy the large diversity of cool JDM cars the Dutch car seen has on offer and let us know what you think:
JDM sunset at the beach is a Japanese car oriented event held at a beautiful location right by the South-West part of the Dutch coast. I was not too sure to make the trip together with my fellow WNGN shooters because we had at least a 2 hour drive and not knowing what we would find on location. Little did I know it was worth making the trip because we had a pretty good evening after all at this meet. Continue reading
As I walk by at events I see a lot of beautiful cars, but what makes me sad is that most of them are only show. Don’t get me wrong about this but I just love a project which has the looks and the performance. What is holding people back to go for the full monty? Is it the money? The time to build? Or maybe the possibility to fail? There are only a handful of people who take the time and have the dedication to build something. Meet Mario, the owner of this beautiful clean and fast Supra! Everyone knows this feeling; you’re at a car event and you’re just looking around but all you see is a lot of cars that would look lovely in an Autostyle folder. Just when you’re about to think all is lost, you’ll find that one car that makes your day and fall in love instantly. Well this is my story about Hondafest and especially about this M&M Honda Racing DC5 Integra. Continue reading
If you’ve read my first blog about the Valtonen Motorsport RX7 a couple weeks ago you probably read that I hoped that that blog wasn’t my last for Wangan Warriors. Luckily for me, here I am with number two! This time I got invited to the WNGN 2K16 event held at an old military terrain near Venray. The forecast for the day was really bad but we did have some good moments to take photos. Continue reading
