Quick stop at JB-Tuning

So here is something I’ve been wanting to share with you guys for a while. A few weeks ago I shared this Work in progress article and told you a little something about our very own Allard’s Rockin’ Roadster. After I captured Allard’s Roadster, he took me to visit JB tuning which was only a 20min drive from his place so I thought it was cool to meet some new faces and discover some projects. Little did I know how awesome the place would be. Continue reading

Let’s do this WNGN-thing

It always surprises me when a group of people is capable to achieve something they set out to achieve. As the preparations of #WNGN are in full swing I’m starting to realize how far we came with something what once was a little car club of only a hand full of people. Of course we have a great group of supporters surrounding our club and the entire scene backing us up at all times. Knowing this, we were confident to host a big event. But let me tell you, it’s getting bigger than we’ve ever dreamed of! Last week we organised a litte promotion meeting to do some photoshoots and filming to promote the event. This was a great succes and we had a lot of fun so what kind of blogger would I be not to share those experiences with you nice folks. Continue reading

AN AMERICAN RACING ADVENTURE

Hi everybody, all the best wishes for the new year! What you are about to read next is my guestblog for Wangan Warriors. My name is Mathieu van den Oever and I’m a former skateboarder who, due to his injuries, replaced one addiction on four wheels for another. As part of my love for cars and racing in general I picked up photography and slowly started to create some videos on the side to capture the automotive lifestyle. When I’m not behind the camera you can find me messing around with my Mazda Miata racecar or rebuilding an old GoKart which I recently purchased with my brother. Continue reading

2K13 captured

As each year is coming to an end I always have the feeling that I didn’t shoot enough, haven’t met so many new people and didn’t make the progress I was hoping for. I think I’m quite happy to say that this year was different. Different in many ways because a lot has changed over the past 12 months in every aspect of Wangan Warriors. Going through the material I’ve captured this year it made me realise how fast time went and how fast things changed. Continue reading

Oosterhout: Growing bigger and bigger

If you’re into cars, and JDM rides in particular, then there are a few events each year that are highlighted in your agenda. Of course there’s the Season opener in Amersfoort (organized by our great team), DMPD (and all DMPD related events) and of course our very own End of Year meeting in Oosterhout. This year marked the fourth anniversary of an event that grows bigger every year! Continue reading

NDC 2013 – A taste of the big leagues

If there’s one area in the world that I love, it’s the German Eifel, home to the famous Nürburgring. With its lovely hills and abundance of trees, it’s almost an exact opposite to the city that I call home, which is Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Once again I would return to motorsport heaven to capture one of the most spectaculair motorsports out there: drifting! Continue reading

Events: Breaking records at Syntix Speedmasters

A few weeks back the Wangan Warriors blog team went almost full force to an event called Syntix Speedmasters. It was an event I was really looking forward to for various reasons. First, it would be one of the very few events we would cover with multiple team members. Second, and most importantly, it promised to be a weekend filled with tyre smoke and roaring engines. Continue reading

Events: European Time Attack Masters

Aside from a few track days I can’t really remember when I last attended Time Attack at Zandvoort but I can tell you one thing, it felt good to be out there again. I was amazed by how many teams from abroad made their way to the Dutch track in the dunes. When Wangan Warriors was invited to become mediapartner for the European Time Attack Masters I was pretty excited and started brainstorming with the crew about how we would approach the event and how we would cover it. Continue reading

Events: Nürmeet 2013 – A wonderful weekend

Just a few weeks before the DTM, Noud, one of the founders of Wangan Warriors, asked me if I wanted to come along to the SXCE Nürmeet. As a big fan of the DTM, but also Japanese cars this wasn’t an easy choice. The DTM is one of the highlights on my calendar, but I also knew the Nürmeet would be a great way to spend the weekend. After a week of being in a dilemma, I decided on the Nürmeet. I just knew I’d regret not coming along, and looking back on my decision, I’m sure I made the right choice. Continue reading
